Well done to everyone who took part in the Miles for Smiles Walk for the Meadows Trust.
As you know, we had planned to walk as a group and raise funds for the Meadows but the COVID restrictions limited what we could do. We walked, as a socially distanced group, when we could and, on occasions, were joined by others (Jenny- it was great to catch up after all these months ) We also sometimes walked around the village although most of our walk was around the Meadows. Penny who does not live in the village joined us from afar with her lovely dog, Baylie.
The weather was kind most of the time albeit rather muddy most of the time. However, after all this time indoors, we all thoroughly enjoyed the walk and, as importantly, enjoyed the chat. The only thing missing was a group cup of tea at the end! It was lovely walking around the Meadows as we often bumped into someone one of us knew from the village.
Our total miles walked was just over 126 miles so I think we did rather well. We will be in touch with the Meadows Trust soon and I will update you on the total we raised.
Take care and fingers crossed we will be able to meet again in early 2021
